Recruit With Purpose
Local chat is good at getting attention.
It is terrible at explaining who you are. Use the message to create curiosity, then give interested pilots somewhere worth visiting.
Stop trying to fit your corporation into one chat message.
Pilots scrolling Local, recruitment channels, Discord, Reddit, or forums usually do not need your entire corporation history immediately. They need a reason to become curious enough to look closer.
The basic idea
Instead of repeating a giant recruitment advertisement everywhere you go, separate the hook from the information.
The message gets attention. Your group page handles everything that would otherwise become six paragraphs of recruitment copy.
What your recruitment page can actually show
- Who you are: Your corporation's culture, goals, history, and personality.
- What you actually do: PvP, mining, industry, wormholes, faction warfare, exploration, nullsec, piracy, missions, hauling, or whatever strange combination you've assembled.
- What your people are like: Fleet screenshots, memes, stories, battle reports, videos, artwork, community posts, and the things that reveal the humans behind the ticker.
- What you expect: Time zones, activity expectations, skill requirements, doctrine expectations, voice requirements, experience level, and anything else applicants should know.
- How to contact you: Recruiters, Discord, in-game channels, application instructions, and next steps.
Show the corporation instead of describing it
Anyone can write that their corporation is active, friendly, established, relaxed, experienced, and fun. Those words appear in recruitment advertisements constantly.
A better recruitment page gives pilots evidence.
- Post screenshots from last night's fleet.
- Publish the ridiculous battle report everyone is still talking about.
- Show the ships your members fly.
- Share corporation memes and running jokes.
- Introduce recruiters and leadership.
- Explain what a normal week actually looks like.
- Let members participate instead of making recruitment entirely a CEO's sales pitch.
Your one-liner only has one job
It does not need to explain everything. It just needs to make the right pilot curious.
