I’m Chaos, the builder behind StreamGrid. I’ve spent a large chunk of my life working with servers, websites, communities, automation, and the strange machinery that keeps the internet running.
StreamGrid grew out of a fairly simple idea: people should still be able to have their own corner of the internet.
🌐 Why StreamGrid Exists
A lot of modern social platforms have become increasingly interchangeable: one feed, one algorithm, one profile template, and a great deal of machinery deciding what everyone should see next.
I wanted to build something a little more personal.
StreamGrid is intended to be a place for streamers, gamers, creators, communities, developers, artists, internet wanderers, and assorted digital misfits to build spaces that actually feel like theirs.
Profiles can have personality. Communities can develop their own culture. People can make things, share things, experiment, and find each other without every interaction needing to become a competition for algorithmic attention.
🛠 What I Build
Social systems, community tools, public websites, user profiles, dashboards, and the infrastructure connecting them together.
Linux servers, databases, web hosting, networking, deployment, monitoring, and keeping complicated systems quietly alive.
Turning repetitive work into systems, connecting services together, and building tools that remove unnecessary friction.
Games, strange little internet projects, interface ideas, community experiments, and whatever else seems worth building.
🧠 Somewhere Behind the Curtain
My background stretches across more than a decade of web development and roughly fifteen years around hosting, systems administration, and NOC work. These days those disciplines tend to blur together.
I’m usually happiest somewhere between systems architecture, development, interface design, automation, troubleshooting, and figuring out why something behaves differently from the way everyone assumed it would.
Most of my projects use fairly ordinary tools — Linux, PHP, MariaDB, JavaScript, Python, Apache, APIs, and whatever else solves the problem — but the interesting part to me has never really been the stack. It’s the system that emerges from it.

🧭 The General Philosophy
Build useful things. Give people room to make them their own. Question unnecessary limitations. Optimize until it hums. Leave the system a little better than you found it.
I’m fascinated by technology partly because of what it does now, but mostly because of what it could eventually let us become. Better tools, better infrastructure, more capable communities, more freedom to create, and perhaps eventually a civilization adventurous enough to wander considerably farther than this planet.
